The Initiative Foundation's core goal of supporting developing communities and individuals in those communities to have better access to opportunity and to create their own improved opportunities runs through all of the projects we are involved in.
To date, we have three programs inderway in:
Sergiev Posad, Russia
Ongwediva, Namibia
Bo, Sierra Leone (in partnership with Digital Links)
Ksach Poy, Cambodia
In addition, we are developing proposals for new communities and places on a regular basis
Each Community Project is comprised of three parts:
Access:
The establishment of a community-operated local area computer
network, and its expansion to include schools, hospitals,
local government and access centers via wireline and wireless
networking.
Opportunity: Leveraging the
installed network to carry out vetted and tailored third
party Initiatives in the areas of business development,
education, healthcare, and community networking. (internet
access, web space and e-mail for local residents).
Accountability: Connecting
donors to the local initiatives through Progress and Expense
Reports.
