The Initiative Foundation
raises funds and harnesses expertise to support three arms
of activity in fulfilling its mission:
Best practices in building and operating developing world
community networks – An active programme to develop
best practices for the technical and social deployment of
community networking systems. Marshalling global expertise
in the technology and environmental realities of community
needs. The Initiative Foundation works to disseminate and
transfer expertise in these best practices to developing
communities and interested organisations across the world.
Facilitating exchange and access to expertise and information
resources – The Initiative Foundation provides resources
to facilitate exchange and access to expertise and information
resources by, between and for developing communities in
their critical need areas – including health, education,
commerce and culture. A hosted platform creates a network
of expertise exchange, and provides a growing knowledge
and communication base to support community networks.
Project implementation and support in partnership with
the local communities themselves and interested organisations,
programmes and initiatives – Active project implementation
and funding through partnerships to deploy developing world
community networks and apply The Initiative Foundation’s
best practices and facilitation resources.

Initiative Foundation is a US
